Three Ways to Boost Your Home’s Curb Appeal

Photography and styling by Shanna Wolf

More time at home means curating a tip-top porch for waving hello to driveway visitors (hello, COVID!) and increasing curb appeal. Homeowner Melanie Gehrke’s front porch in the Westmorland neighborhood (shown at the top) oozes contemporary, yet cozy, charm. “The style of my house is very common in my neighborhood, so I wanted to add dimension to the front of the house and do something unique,” says Gehrke. The home’s classic black and white motif is warmed with wood accents — a hot design trend right now.

Metal awning design and installation: Custom Metals (Madison). Landscaping: The Bruce Company. Pari rattan chair, $128, Anthropologie. Sheepskin, stylist’s own.
