Please describe your design style.

We focus on a transitional style. This uses a combination of both traditional and soft, contemporary elements. We create spaces that welcome you into them via color, texture and the use of patterns.

What are the signature touches of a professionally designed room?

A cohesive color scheme, repetition of design elements, layers of patterns, window treatments and finishing touches. Details such as wallpapers, appropriately scaled accessories and layers of bedding all reflect a well thought out space.

Our $150 in-home design consultations include all of these selections and more. Describe your vision, existing pieces you want to keep and your budget — and we’ll take it from there!

What home trends are you most excited about right now?

  • Wallpaper
  • Drapery and window treatments that are more than just shades
  • A return to all things traditional — cozy, warm and inviting
  • Painted trim
  • Darker wood tones

What colors are popular right now in interior design?

Warm colors including tans, browns, greens, plums and burgundy. These colors return us to the traditional period of the past. People are looking to warm up their homes and remove the gray tones that have been so popular the past few years.

What common mistakes do homeowners make when attempting to pull together a room’s design on their own?

People aren’t aware of how scale is vital to the design of a room. Lamps, rugs and even upholstered pieces need to be correctly scaled within a space. They also need to be the correct size with one another to create balance and cohesion.

Often, people don’t have a clear vision of what they want their room to look like when it’s finished. They may purchase items one at a time, without thinking about the overall room design. When everything in a room finally comes together, it can still feel off. There’s often a lack of cohesion, and people aren’t sure how to fix it or make the space feel unified.
