The Perfect Pair

Open the door to Chauette’s new addition, and it’s as if you’re stepping into the cozy home of a stylish mother-daughter duo.

After launching Chauette as a women’s clothing boutique in the Paoli Schoolhouse, Susan Bakke moved the shop to Middleton’s charming downtown. Now, four fruitful years later, she’s expanded her retail focus—and space—and partnered with daughter Samantha Annen to open Chauette Home.
Annen’s side of the store carries everything from fun frames and artsy stationery to high-end linens, feminine place settings, snuggly blankets for winter, playful children’s gifts and goods for sophisticated entertainers. Come May it will carry Wolf Gourmet, a new line of kitchen tools, furthering the options for the store’s gift and bridal registries.Chauette Home also focuses on Madison and Etsy artists, carrying their local jams, “Lake Monona” pillows, and other handcrafted items. This, Annen says, along with the store’s promotion of downtown Middleton, “just makes the vibe even more homey.”
