Flower Power

If frolicking through fields of in-full-bloom flowers sounds like a magical summer experience, you can make it happen at two farms just outside of Madison.

Starting in late July, Eugster’s Farm Market in Stoughton hosts its annual Sunflower Days. For the ninth year, the family-run farm devotes more than 10 acres to over 500,000 sunflowers. Stroll among rolling fields of gold and pause to soak up views of the sunny blooms. Before you go, you can also explore a zinnia field and wildflower patches, and visit baby goats in their playpen, along with sheep, pigs, cats and other animals at the petting farm.

East of Madison in Deerfield, Schuster’s Farm celebrates Blooms on the Farm all August long. Visitors can wander through fields of sunflowers, zinnias, marigolds and cosmos, and take wagon rides around the farm. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in August feature activities for all ages, refreshments, animal visits and evening live music, rounding out the seasonal festivities. Both farms offer you-cut flowers, plus plenty of colorful flower photo ops!
