Hiking the Northwoods; Holmboe Conifer Forest

Located right in town and with less than one mile of trail, Holmboe is home to towering old-growth trees and offers scenic views of the Pelican river. Our walk will take us through the forest and over several picturesque boardwalks. Notable features include old-growth Hemlocks, glacial ridges, lowland swamps, natural springs and undeveloped shore. The forest is home to an abundance of ecological biodiversity including pileated woodpeckers, ravens, pitcher plants, native orchids, fungi and trees.
