The Madison Jazz Society End-of-Year Membership Party, Jam & Concert is Saturday, May 4 (not Sunday) at Café Coda, 1224 Williamson St, Madison (street parking — but pretty easy to find on Saturdays during the afternoon). Here’s the schedule for the day:
1-3 PM — Madison Jazz Jam & Student Showcase
3:30-4:45 PM — Set by Sweet Sheiks
4:45-5:15 PM — MJS Member Meeting
5:15-6:45 PM — Set by Sweet Sheiks
Yes, you’re reading it correctly!! The wonderful Sweet Sheiks from Milwaukee will be performing at this free event!! The Sheiks performed at an MJS concert a couple years ago and they were very impressive!! You won’t want to miss this. Just a note – the MJS Year End Party has, in the past, been held later in May but this earlier date was chosen so they can ensure participation by students who attend the monthly Madison Jazz Jam sessions.
