It’s never too early to look for your next favorite fashion find! Thanks to trend forecasting from renowned fashion and lifestyle database Worth Global Style Network (WGSN), we can see the future of fashion months in advance. Informed by runway analyses and insights on how our lifestyles shape our fashion sense, WGSN is able to predict what styles we’ll be wearing now and into fall.
As post-pandemic life approaches, people will be able to travel, enjoy social occasions and eventually head back to the office. However, now that we know there is no need to sacrifice comfort for productivity, our next step is transitioning pandemic style into work-leisure chic. WGSN reports what work-from-home style trends are here to stay — and how to adapt them to post-pandemic life.
Pastels and Neutrals
Pastels and neutrals usually regain their popularity for spring and summer, and this year was no different. Specifically, three of the most popular colors in 2021 have been chocolate brown, sage green and lavender. Inspired by the warm, bright colors of spring, these colors go perfectly with the whites and blues you already have in your wardrobe.
Checkerboard and Geometric Prints
While you may be more interested in wearing comfortable clothes, that certainly doesn’t mean they have to be boring. Bright checkerboard and geometric prints on blouses and pants can spruce up your look, without sacrificing comfort. Pair interesting tops with neutral trousers for a balanced ensemble.
Loafers
Instead of re-learning to walk in heels, a loafer can be a classic staple in your work wardrobe. Loafers come in many styles, some with small heels or not, and can be worn with dresses, trousers or jeans.
Knitwear
Sweater dresses, cardigans and even sweater vests for summer can keep you cozy in a drafty office or on a windy boat ride. Try searching for a chunky knit, fisherman rib stitch style or a knit with a colorful pattern to give your outfit extra flair.
Wrap Dresses
Wrap dresses are perfect for heading back to the office and your first post-pandemic cocktail party. They can be adjusted to fit your natural waist, and can be worn with flats or heels.
