By providing innovative culinary techniques\, we hope to entice even the non-vegan foodie into enjoying dishes that contribute to environmental sustainability and a conscious lifestyle. On-the-go\, seasonal food options fuse together a variety of culinary techniques to create a final product that packs as much flavor as it does nutritional value. \nWhy the title? \nThe name “Vengan Pa’ Ka” is a vital component of this company’s manifestation. It is a welcoming call to all. Vengan is a Spanish verb that means “to come”; i.e. vengan a comer con nosotros – come and eat with us. Pa’ Ka is street slang; i.e. para acá – over here\, but also alludes to the phonology of multicultural dialects. The multicultural symbolism in VPK represents the owner and head chef’s diverse background both in life as well as in cooking. Each dish is a fusion of different world cuisines with an emphasis on fresh\, local sustainably-grown ingredients.

DESCRIPTION:Dance Wisconsin\, a Madison area pre-professional dance company\, brings the beloved classical ballet La Fille mal Gardée back to the stage on Saturday\, April 11 at 2 p.m. in Madison College’s Mitby Theater. This lively comedy brings together dancers from all over south and central Wisconsin\, including guest artists from the local professional company Madison Ballet. \nLa Fille mal Gardée\, or The Unguarded Daughter\, is bursting with charm\, comedy\, and joy. This lighthearted love story follows a spirited young girl named Lise\, who has her heart set on the handsome farm boy Colas. However\, her larger-than-life mother\, Widow Simone\, has other plans and promises Lise to the awkward Alain\, the son of a wealthy winemaker. Laugh along with her over-the-top antics as she tries\, and hilariously fails\, to keep Lise and Colas apart. Mischief\, mistaken plans\, and iconic dance sequences such as the Ribbon Pas De Deux and the thrilling Storm scene lead to a heartwarming finale that will delight all ages. The performance features guest artists Sarah Martin\, Benjamin Rose\, and Gabriel Aguilar of Madison Ballet as Lise\, Colas\, and Alain respectively. \nDance Wisconsin is a non-profit pre-professional dance company composed of dancers ages twelve and up led by artistic director JoJean Retrum. Founded in 1977\, the company prides itself as a nurturing environment for tomorrow’s leaders. Dance Wisconsin has been a part of Regional Dance America’s MidStates Region for over thirty years and is Wisconsin’s only Honor Company within RDA. The dances are easy to learn\, and everyone joins in\, whether you’re an expert or have never danced a day in your life. Expect traditional Scottish tunes\, group dances (often with a caller guiding the steps)\, and a welcoming\, party-like atmosphere. It’s all about community\, connection\, and having a great time—no kilts or experience required. The night runs from 7–10pm\, with music\, dancing\, and plenty of good cheer (and maybe a dram or two of whisky). So if you’re up for a night of movement\, music\, and memorable shenanigans—this Cèilidh is calling your name!

Whether you’re rocking the swinging ‘60s\, the trends of today\, or any iconic era in between\, it’s going to be a celebration you won’t want to miss.\nBowl for Kids’ Sake is a multi-night bowling fundraiser filled with prizes\, games\, music\, and friendly competition. Community members and local companies form teams of 4–6 people to raise funds supporting our mission\, then celebrate their success with a fun night of bowling — all while making a real difference for kids in our community.
