SUMMARY:Free Concert: Jordana
DESCRIPTION:Singer/songwriter Jordana Nye\, aka Jordana\, is known for her intimately cozy yet still danceable indie pop. She first garnered attention with her 2019 debut album\, Classical Notions of Happiness. The Melvv-produced Something to Say to You arrived in 2021\, followed by 2022’s Face the Wall\, both of which found Jordana building upon her love of ’90s indie rock and continuing to hone her sound. She has also collaborated on singles\, joining forces with Yot Club for 2023’s “Safe House” and Paul Cherry for 2024’s “My Idol\,” lyrical collaborations that set the stage for the folky\, ’60s and ’70s sunshine pop sound she embraced on 2024’s Lively Premonition. Hosted by the Wisconsin Union Directorate Music Committee.

SUMMARY:Vengan Pa’ Ka Pop Up at The Deliciouser
DESCRIPTION:Vengan Pa’ Ka is dishing out innovative vegan cuisine throughout the Midwest. Our main objective is to provide sustainably grown\, organic\, plant-based products while supporting a conscious lifestyle. Sustainability is at the forefront of VPK’s ideology. We strive to obtain the majority of our produce from local\, organic purveyors within Wisconsin and the surrounding areas. Our environmentally driven practices set us apart from the rest by putting a strong focus on eco-friendly products\, zero-waste management\, renewable resources\, and community outreach. By providing innovative culinary techniques\, we hope to entice even the non-vegan foodie into enjoying dishes that contribute to environmental sustainability and a conscious lifestyle. On-the-go\, seasonal food options fuse together a variety of culinary techniques to create a final product that packs as much flavor as it does nutritional value. \nWhy the title? \nThe name “Vengan Pa’ Ka” is a vital component of this company’s manifestation. It is a welcoming call to all. Vengan is a Spanish verb that means “to come”; i.e. vengan a comer con nosotros – come and eat with us. Pa’ Ka is street slang; i.e. para acá – over here\, but also alludes to the phonology of multicultural dialects. The multicultural symbolism in VPK represents the owner and head chef’s diverse background both in life as well as in cooking. Each dish is a fusion of different world cuisines with an emphasis on fresh\, local sustainably-grown ingredients.
