Adults get to dance\, sip\, and chat\, kids climb and play\, and everyone enjoys breezy social time in an outdoor play space like no other! \nTonight\, MCM welcomes Christo’s Novelty Combo\, an ensemble led by award-winning instrumentalist Christo Ruppenthal. Christo’s Novelty Combo melds exciting\, steel guitar-centered jazz and Django Reinhardt influences with vintage “Hawaiian Craze”-inspired tunes. Be sure to grab supper from Halo Halo food cart and a dreamy dessert from Stellie’s Ice Cream\, both offering for-purchase options in the Wonderground. \nSign up in-person for art tours highlighting vibrant works throughout the museum by local fiber artist Renee Roeder Earley\, 6:15 pm and 7 pm. \nLive from the Wonderground admission is free! Renee contributed whimsical stitchery to countless exhibits as part of the museum’s team of local artists and makers over the past 30 years. She passed away in February 2025\, much too soon\, but her work lives on and continues to inspire children and staff at MCM every day. \nJoin museum staff for a tour highlighting some of her many pieces created for MCM and our community’s children. The evening will include an elegant meal\, a silent auction\, and a wine/bourbon/NA spirits pull. This year\, the chapter will celebrate the contributions of three distinguished honorees who have made a profound impact on mental health awareness and suicide prevention\, helping to create a world where no one feels alone in their struggles: Mission Impact Honoree Terry McGuire\, host of the Giving Voice to Depression podcast; Community Impact Honoree Jeffrey Ditzenberger\, Navy veteran and prominent advocate for mental health and suicide prevention in agriculture and society; and Social Impact Honoree Jean Papalia\, a retired City of Madison Police officer who spent many years establishing partnerships in the mental health community.
