Join us as we celebrate the historic art form. Overture’s first-ever Puppet Festival brings together the traditional and the modern, the enchanting and the irreverent, all to surprise and delight you and yours.

With overhead projectors, shadow puppets, actors in silhouette,and live music—and virtually no dialog—this is a mythic reinvention of the classic coming-of-age story. A lonely adolescent girl living with her mother in the desert becomes obsessed with a soulful country music duo. Inspired by their music, she runs away from home and into a world of danger, deception, and disappointment, all hauntingly depicted in shadow and light.

Hear the wind, feel the rain, smell the lavender and laugh with Dog. In this ecologically inspired tale performed by the famed Puppet State Theatre Company, a French shepherd sets out to plant a forest and transform a barren wasteland acorn by acorn. Their uplifting and unforgettable story shows us the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world.
